Dr. Sarhan receives WSU 2009 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching.   Research assistantship positions are available for new computer engineering PhD students.   Internship positions are available for undergraduate students.
Dr. Sarhan received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University and my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
He works as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and directs Wayne State Media Research Lab. His main research areas are server and network support for multimedia applications, design of scalable multimedia servers, video streaming over the Internet and wireless networks, video-on-demand (VOD), multimedia and data networks, automated video surveillance, storage, computer architecture, performance evaluation.
Dr. Sarhan received the 2008 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Southeastern Michigan Section, for many accomplishments in multimedia computing and networking research and university teaching profession. He also received the Wayne State University 2009 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2007 College of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award.
