I received my Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University and my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology.

I work as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and direct Wayne State Media Research Lab. My main research areas are server and network support for multimedia applications, design of scalable multimedia servers, video streaming over the Internet and wireless networks, video-on-demand (VOD), multimedia and data networks, automated video surveillance, storage, computer architecture, performance evaluation.

I have recently received the 2008 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Southeastern Michigan Section, for many accomplishments in multimedia computing and networking research and university teaching profession. I have also received the 2007 Wayne State University College of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award.
