 Single Molecular Electronics

At single molecular scale, the science could be largely different from that at macroscale.  We systematically study electronic, structural, and electrical properties at single molecular scale by both experimental and theoretical approaches. The newfound knowledge is directly applied to develop novel and high performance devices.

We have successfully observed ferroelectricity at single molecular scale and are developing single molecular switches, transistors, and non-volatile memories.  The single molecular memory is nonvolatile and has capability of non-destructive readout. To improve the performance, the interaction between molecular systems and electrodes is largely studied and the large-scale integration is also investigated.
