One-dimensional system is a
promising candidate as an extremely sensitive gas sensor because of its
highly sensitive intrinsic properties to external perturbation. The
electronic structures of gases are unique properties of each gas and it
can be utilized as a fingerprint of the target gas. By utilizing the
extreme sensitivity of one-dimensional system and unique electronic
structural properties of each gas, we are developing highly sensitive
and selective gas sensors and it is called as a gas analyzer. To improve
contact properties and the performance, carbon nanotubes are directly
grown between two electrodes. This direct growth method is extended into
large-scale integration of carbon nanotube gas analyzer.
