JPDC Call for Paper
Special Issue on
Scalable Web Services and Architecture
<<One Page CFP>>
With the rapid growth of the
Internet, web services are becoming an increasingly important class of driving applications
for scalable computer systems. In particular, cluster-based distributed servers
are being deployed by more and more popular web sites for scalable and highly
available services. This special issue aims to accelerate research on, and
development of, distributed servers for scalable and highly available web
services by bringing together papers that present the state-of-the-art research
results and problems, and current practice in the field.
Original manuscripts are solicited for this special issue.
The topics of interest include, but not limited to, the
- Scalability of distributed servers
- Web server traffic characterization and benchmarking
- Scheduling and load balancing on distributed servers
- Distributed server monitoring, fault tolerance, and management
- Caching, data replication, and multi-version concurrency control
- Security mechanism and policies for distributed servers
- Storage area network and network-attached storage for web services
- Network architecture, interoperability, and protocols of distributed servers
- Programming paradigms for scalable and highly available web services
- Distributed transactions management
- Case studies and experiences
