CALL FOR PAPERS

for a Special Issue on

SECURITY IN GRID and DISTRIBUTRED SYSTEMS

to appear in

Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing

The proliferation of services and applications in both Internet-based and ad-hoc based environments has been bringing network and system security issues to the fore. The past few years have seen significant increase in cyber attacks on the Internet, resulting in degraded confidence and trusts in the use of Internet and computer systems. We also expect to see more attacks and threats on the coming wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks soon because of their resource constraints. There is a consensus that a key contributing factor leading to cyber threats is the lack of integrated and cohesive strategies that extend beyond the network level, to protect the applications and devices at system level as well. There is an increasing demand for measures to guarantee the privacy, integrity, and availability of resources in networks and in distributed systems, such as Grid, P2P systems, and wireless sensor networks. This special issue will cover various topics on security in Grid and distributed systems.

The topics of interests include, but not limited to:

PAPER SUBMISSION:

Prospective authors are invited to submit their original and previously unpublished papers. Submission to this journal proceeds totally online. Via the "Author Gateway" page of this journal (http://ees.elsevier.com/jpdc), you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the various files. The system automatically converts source files to a single Adobe Acrobat PDF version of the article, which is used in the peer-review process. Please note that even though manuscript source files are converted to PDF at submission for the review process, these source files are needed for further processing after acceptance. All correspondence, including notification of the editor's decision and requests for revision, takes place by e-mail and via the author's homepage, removing the need for a hard-copy paper trail. It can be advantageous to print the "Guide for Authors" section from the site for reference in the subsequent stages of article preparation.

Because the submission link in the Author Gateway to this special issue is broken, prospective authors may submit their manuscripts directly by email to Dr. Weisong Shi at weisong@wayne.edu.
